Day-to-day operations are led by nursery manager Janet Simkins who has been with Sierra Nursery since moving from the SF bay area in 2002. Janet is also CCN certified, has over 25 years in wholesale and retail nursery operations and is probably one of the most knowledgeable plant people in the greater Sacramento area. Our customers, including “Master-Gardeners”, have come to rely on Janet for expert advice on a wide variety of gardening topics. Accordingly, Janet will be hosting a “Ask the Expert” column on this web site where our customers can submit their questions for Janet’s consideration.

We are also proud to offer a full array of professional landscape consultation and design services which are targeted to help our customers solve their specific projects, be they changing out an existing portion of your yard, or starting a new landscape construction project from scratch. These services are supported by Karen Smith, who is also CCN certified and has been associated with Sierra Nursery in this capacity for the past ten years.

In addition Deb Hall, who has a degree in Horticulture joined the design team in 2006 and has already established a loyal following of repeat clients throughout the surrounding communities. Over the years we have provided these services for several hundred clients in the Sacramento area who also enjoy extended discount programs at Sierra Nursery by virtue of being a design/consultation client.
